West Lothian Council and White Ribbon Scotland are delighted to announce an event with Professor Michael P. Johnson on “Distinguishing among types of intimate partner violence”.
Michael P. Johnson has been concerned with this debate for many years and presents a useful approach to understanding the dynamics of domestic abuse. Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Michigan, he is internationally well known for his pioneering research on domestic abuse. His influential text and theory of “intimate terrorism” has shaped and influenced Scotland’s definition of domestic abuse, our policies and practice when responding to this issue.
This will be a unique training opportunity and early booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment. The event is free, however spaces are limited. If you would like to register please contact caitlynn.emery@westlothian.gov.uk or 01506 283385 by Friday, 14th February.
Unfortunately refreshments will not be provided, however they can be purchased within Howden Park Centre.
