To Eliminate Violence Against Women – 27th November 2013
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence is an annual international campaign that starts on 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on 10 December, Human Rights Day. The campaign aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence as a human rights issue at the local, national, regional and international level.
The theme of the Scottish Women’s Aid programme to mark the 16 days of Action is ‘journeys’. Cedar has been invited to deliver a workshop seminar as part of the programme, highlighting the role of Cedar in supporting children and their mothers on their journey to recovery. The workshop promises to include some of the theory behind the Cedar model – how and why it works – as well an interactive session with the opportunity to use some of the creative tools that are key to the success of the Cedar programme.
As always, the national Cedar team are keen to co-deliver with our expert colleagues from the Cedar network. If you are interested in working with the national team on this, and are free on the afternoon of Wednesday 27th November, please contact Kirstie.farmer@scottishwomensaid.org.uk
