Cedar and COVID-19
Cedar supports children, young people and their mothers to recover from their experiences of domestic abuse. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, research shows that incidences and intensity of domestic abuse will have risen in many countries, including Scotland, during lockdown. It is anticipated that the numbers of children and young people requiring support to recover from their experiences of domestic abuse will increase once lockdown restrictions ease. We have co-produced an infographic with Scottish Women’s Aid to highlight this: COVID-19 & Domestic abuse: Support & recover for children & young people.
The Cedar Network are running a monthly blog series which will highlight key messages around the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people, the importance of domestic abuse-informed practice and policy, and the vital need for recovery support – such as Cedar – in the “new normal”.
